Services

PTRC Services Include:

  • Consultation and training in the application of new technologies in transformation and molecular analyses of both monocot and dicot plant species
  • Provide assistance in the initial stages of the transformation process including different methods of DNA transfer into desired plant species (Agrobacterium, biolistics, electroporation and vacuum infiltration)
  • Provide centralized facilities, state of the art equipment, and materials to multiple research groups
  • Carry out contract transformation and tissue culture services from gene to seed

Plant Transformation Contracts

The PTRC currently offers Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of:

  • Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana)
  • Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)
  • Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum)
  • Tomato (Lycopersicom esculentum)
  • Rice (Oriza sativa)

For this service, the customer should provide Agrobacterium cultures with the desired cassettes. Plasmid rescue from Agrobacterium and confirmation of plasmid integrity must be conducted before cultures are transferred to the PTRC.
